Kalpulli is a program created by M.E.Ch.A de csun. We are a peer mentorship program that provides mentors for freshman or new incoming students to CSUN. We are non-profit organization that sponsors events that encourage bonding and community building. The program provides resources for students, such as emotional and academic support throughout their university experience.
What we do:
Our goal is to make sure that each member has a support system for dealing with the craziness of college life. M.E.Ch.A understands the difficulties that students face in experiencing a new environment. The mentor/mentee program exists to make the first year of college life an experience to remember.
Roles and responsibilities of being a part of the program:
1. Every member of the program must abide by the principals of unity. 2. Each mentor/mentee is responsible for 10 volunteer hours. Volunteer hours can be fulfilled by helping to planning or running a MECHA event or helping at an outside approved place. 3. Each mentor/mentee will be responsible for recording their time spent together and submitting a monthly report to the coordinators of the program. a. This report must be email/turned in every 5th of the month. b. Only on report should be submitted c. The report must details the activity that the pair participated to help strengthens their bond. d. The report must detail… i. Why was the activity chosen ii. what are the thing that were enjoyable iii. what things were learned about each other iv. what future activity will you plan next.
